Who is IIAWV?
  • The Independent Insurance Agents of West Virginia, Inc. (IIAWV) is West Virginia’s oldest and largest insurance trade association. IIAWV represents more than 2,000 licensed independent insurance agents whose primary emphasis is on property and casualty insurance. Independent agencies range in size from a family-owned one-office firm to a statewide multi-office firm.

  • Independent Agents provide all forms of insurance coverage to West Virginia’s citizens and our business community. Unlike company-employed agents, independent insurance agents represent more than one insurance company and therefore can offer clients a wider choice of auto, home, business, life, health coverages as well as retirement and employee-benefit products. Independent agents not only advise clients about insurance, they recommend loss-prevention ideas that can cut costs. If a loss occurs, the independent insurance agent or broker stands with the client until the claim is settled.

  • IIAWV is a member of the Independent Insurance Agents and Brokers of American (IIABA).
Why is IIAWV critical to the media?
  • IIAWV and our member agents can provide the media professional with credible insurance information, researching current issues and providing background materials for your story.
  • IIAWV and our member agents can respond quickly to help you meet your deadline.  We can give you quotes from the consumer prospective, as well as the perspective from the insurance industry.
